Berries
|
There are several different kinds of berries in Super Mario World. All of them can be found on bushes in the majority of levels. If enough fruit is eaten by yoshi, he'll lay an egg, which will produce a green shell. Other varieties of berry in this game are pink and green berries.

Yoshi's Island

Melon
|
|
The melon in this game can be found mostly in world three, and once yoshi swallows it, he is able to shoot seeds at people for a little while. Yoshi can also grab chunks of melon, but they don't last as long.

Red Melon
|
|
The red melon is seldom seen in this game, but it is very useful. Once yoshi eats a red melon, he will be able to breathe fire (which will immediately kill his enemies) three times.

Blue Melon
|
|
Again, this is a melon that is not seen very often in the game, but it can come in handy. When yoshi eats this melon, he will be able to breathe ice, which will immediately freeze his enemies three times.

Yoshi's Story

Apple
|
This is red and pink yoshi's favourite fruit, though it can be useful regardless of which yoshi you are using.

Banana
|
This is yellow yoshi's favourite fruit, though it can be useful regardless of which yoshi you are using.

Grape
|
This is light and dark blue yoshi's favourite fruit, though it can be useful regardless of which yoshi you are using.
|
|
Watermelon
|
This is green yoshi's favourite fruit, though it can be useful regardless of which yoshi you are using.

|
Melon
|
The melon is the favourite of white and black yoshi, though it is also very useful for the rest of them as well. When five or more of these melons is eaten in a row, the yoshi's will get a special treat.

Pepper
|
Most of the yoshi's dislike the pepper, and their happiness decreases when they consume it, but black and white yoshi are able to ingest it perfectly fine.

Heart Fruit
|
The heart fruit it much less common than all of the other fruit in the game. Every once and a while yoshi will come across it, and eating it will make him ridiculously happy for a brief period of time.

Super Mario Sunshine

Pear
|
The purpose of the pear is to feed to yoshi to make him change colour, or to keep him from dying. The pear will turn yoshi orange.

Pineapple
|
The purpose of the pineapple is to feed to yoshi to make him change colour, or to keep him from dying. The pineapple will turn yoshi orange.

Banana
|
|
The purpose of the banana is to feed to yoshi to make him change colour, or to keep him from dying. The banana will turn yoshi pink.
|
|
Coconut
|
|
The purpose of the coconut is to feed to yoshi to make him change colour, or to keep him from dying. The coconut will turn yoshi pink.

Pepper
|

The purpose of the pepper is to feed to yoshi to make him change colour, or to keep him from dying. The pepper will turn yoshi purple.

Durian

The purpose of the durian is to feed to yoshi to make him change colour, or to keep him from dying. The durian will turn yoshi purple. I had never heard of the durian until recently, and apparantly it grows on a type of tree that is only in Asia
