Graphics: 6.5 out of 10
I wasn't impressed with the graphics in Mario Golf. They were fairly blocky, even considering the 64 bit limitation for the graphics. Then again, the focus of the game wasn't the graphics, and the scenery was so vast, that it's expected that they wouldn't be the greatest of any Nintendo 64 game.
Music/Sound: 8 out of 10
There was fairly enjoyble music in this game. It produced some recignisable, and some new and fun tunes. More though, what gave Mario Golf an 8 out of 10 in this category was the sound. I loved the way the control pad and c buttons controlled the characters voices. Each character gets a set of insults, and a set of compliments which can be used when someone other than them is golfing. However, when 4 people get together and play this game, it can get a little crazy as everyone is madly pressing the voice buttons again and again during your turn.
Storyline: Not applicable
This is a sport Mario game, and there is no storyline. This game was designed as a multi-player, replayable game, and unlike adventure games, does not possess a storyline.
Replayability: 9 out of 10
Like all multi-player games, Mario Golf is quite replayble. Not only will you have fun playing the courses, and perfecting your swing, but you can earn tons of characters, and golf courses. It will be even more replayable if you play it with as large of group of people as possible. It is one of those games that is meant to be played at a party.
Amount of Fun: 8 out of 10
This is one of the better multi-player mario games that have been made. Though you may not think that a game of golf could be fun, Nintendo showed you otherwise. I never thought that I could thoroughly enjoy a game of golf, but I really have fun playing this game.
Overall: 7.9 out of 10
Overall, I recommend this game to all fans of mario. It is fun, and requires some skill to play. Great for parties, and other get togethers. Also, it includes things like tournaments, mini-putt, ring shots and more. For people looking for an all around multi-player game, with tons to unlock, I suggest you play Mario Golf.
