Transformations
| Submarine |
Submarine: Yoshi will temporarily turn into a submarine, which allows him to travel through water much more gracefully than as a yoshi. He can also fire heat seeking missiles to protect himself from fish.

| Car |
Car: Yoshi will temporarily turn into a car, which allows him to travel extremely quickly along the level. He can also lift himself up, so that enemies will go under him, and he can jump.

| Helicopter |
Helicopter: Yoshi will temporarily turn into a helicopter, which allows him to travel through the air. The helicopter makes it extremely easy to weave through goonies, and various other obstacles.

| Mole |
Mole: Yoshi will temporarily turn into a mole, which allows him to tunnel underground. Though he is quite slow in this state, yoshi will need to go to it to retrive bonus points, or secret keys.
|
| Train |
Train: Yoshi will temporarily turn into a train, which allows him to move along a track on the wall. This is sometimes important for beating the level, however, it is sometimes there only to allow yoshi to get bonus points, or reach locked doors. Yoshi cannot jump, or attack in this state, so when he runs into miniature enemies on the track, he simply wipes out, and is slowed down.

| Ski Yoshi |
Ski Yoshi: Yoshi will temporarily wear skis. This only appears once of twice in the game, and it allow yoshi to swiftly fly down the slopes of the snow levels. Yoshi moves very fast, and can not attack, or defend himself, only jump.

| Hot-Air Balloon |
Hot-Air Balloon is featured in Yoshi Topsy-Turvy. This transformation takes place automatically at the beginning of a course. When Yoshi is a hot-air balloon, he gradually falls downwards while drifting across the stage, and you must use the tilt feature to influence how he falls.

| Yoshi Boat |
Yoshi Boat is featured in Yoshi Topsy-Turvy. Yoshi automatically turns into Yoshi Boat at the beginning of water courses. In these stages, the water is always level, and you must tilt the system to prevent harm, obtain items, and keep Yoshi on the screen.
