Poochy is a dog that is found in quite a few levels, and helps yoshi reach certain areas that he cannot reach on his own. Though usually not vital to the winning of the level, he can help yoshi get to keys, or locked doors, and help him get over walls, or get extra coins. Yoshi rides on poochy's back, and poochy can take yoshi across sharp spikes that yoshi's feet can't touch.
