Green Yoshi
|
Green Yoshi is the original yoshi. Yoshi's first game appearance was in Super Mario World for Super Nintendo. Green Yoshi's favorite fruit is a watermelon. Being the original yoshi, he has appeared in the most games, is a skilled driver, golfer, tennis player, star gatherer, form of transportation, etc.

Yellow Yoshi

Yellow Yoshi also first appeared in Super Mario World. Yellow Yoshi's favorite fruit is bananas. When Yellow Yoshi swallows any colour koopa shell in Super Mario World, he is able to stomp.

Red Yoshi

Red Yoshi was also one of the original four Yoshi's to appear in Super Mario World. Red Yoshi's favorite fruit is apples. In Super Mario World, red yoshi is able to breathe fire after swallowing any colour of koopa shell.

Dark Blue Yoshi

Dark Blue Yoshi was the fourth Yoshi to appear in Super Mario World. Blue Yoshi's favorite fruit is grapes. In Super Mario World, blue yoshi is able to swallow any coloured koopa shell and grow wings.

Light Blue Yoshi

Light Blue Yoshi's first appearance was in Yoshi's Island. Light Yoshi's favorite fruit are grapes.

Pink Yoshi

Pink Yoshi's first appearance was in Yoshi's Island for Super Nintendo. Pink Yoshi's favorite fruit is apples. As a side note, this site was originally going to be called Pink Yoshi's Page, but on a website I visited, the username Pink Yoshi was already taken, so I therefore chose Purple Yoshi. In Super Mario Sunshine, feed Yoshi a banana or a coconut to turn him pink.

Purple Yoshi

Purple Yoshi was first in Yoshi's Island for Super Nintendo. Purple Yoshi prefers grapes to other fruit, and has unfortunately appeared in less games than the Yoshis listed above (only YI, SMS, and YI DS). To turn Yoshi pink in Super Mario Sunshine, feed him a pepper or a durian.

White Yoshi

White Yoshi first appeared in Yoshi's Story in 1998 as a secret character. Only him and Black yoshi are capable of eating peppers and remaining happy. As well, in Yoshi's Story, white yoshi has a higher voice than all of the other yoshis.

Black Yoshi

Black Yoshi first appeared in Yoshi's Story in 1998 as a secret character. As stated above, only him and white yoshi can eat peppers. As well, black yoshi's voice tends to be lower pitched than the other yoshis (only in Yoshi's Story).

Brown Yoshi

Brown yoshi is the least known yoshi, having received the least amount of video game roles. He appeared in Yoshi's Island for the SNES (and Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island), but no other games since then.

Orange Yoshi

Orange Yoshi's first game appearance was in Super Mario Sunshine (2002). He has finally, after many years, been included in a game. To make Yoshi orange in Super Mario Sunshine, feed him a pear or a pineapple.
